As fans of both Mandy Moore and her recent studio album, "Amanda Leigh," we know that Mandy and Mike are close friends and collaborators. Mike, as a matter of a fact, worked with Mandy Moore on her latest album, Amanda Leigh
in 2009.
But what else is there to know about Mike Viola?
Mike Viola is best known as singer, songwriter, and musical architect of the Candy Butchers, a highly regarded indie-pop rock band from New York. Recording three albums for Sony Records from 1996 to 1999, Mike shot to fame with a trio of hit releases entitled "Candy Butchers/"The Blue Thumb Album," "Let's Get Serious," and "Falling into Place
."
Simultaneously, Mike gained acclaim in 1996 for his work writing and producing the title track of That Thing You Do, with Tom Hanks. Working again in 2007, Mike accepted an opportunity to join Dan Bern as main collaborating songwriter in the Jake Kasden/Judd Apatow film, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story

An independent artist since 2005, Mike has released a pair of highly successful albums in the past several years, entitled Just Before Dark
and Lurch
. Working with Mandy Moore since 2008, he produced her sixth studio in 2009, entitled Amanda Leigh
.
