As an alt-country artist, few musicians have made an impact like Dave Rawlings.
A celebrated guitarist, singer, and music producer, Rawlings is an influential figure to such legends as Emmylou Harris, Ryan Adams, and Gillian Welch. A trusted industry-insider, Rawlings talents have led him to become a successful producer of bands like Welch and Old Crow Medicine Show.
Marking yet another accomplishment recently, Rawlings teamed up with friend and fellow musician Ryan Adams to release his very first solo album. Entitled "A Friend of a Friend," the album features seven original tracks written by Rawlings, and a pair of popular covers.
Notably, the album features the beloved song, "To Be Young (is to be sad, is to be high)" from Ryan's acclaimed studio debut, "Heartbreaker
." In the same vein, it also features "Ruby
," written by both Rawlings and Ryan. Other contributors include the iconic Gillian Welch as well as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
