While it seems like a lifetime ago that songstress Norah Jones burst on the scene with her multi-platinum selling hit "Come Away with Me," the past seven years have yielded a transformation in the now-30 year old singer-songwriter.
Bearing no grievance against the sound that made her the highest selling Jazz artist of the 2000's, Jones's latest work reveals a sentimental tapestry, weaving elements of smoky sensuality with the eclectic sounds of Pink Floyd gone alt-country.
Collaborating with acclaimed songwriters Will Sheff of Okkervil River and alt-country legend, Ryan Adams, Jones is at her sensual best crooning Ryan's alt-country themed "Light As A Feather." Leading off with some masterful guitar-work by veterans Marc Ribot and Smokey Hormel, the song offers a calming dose of both beautiful poetry and up-tempo beats that go far in representing Jones as a musician.
