Tony Award winning actress, Donna Murphy has agreed to join Mandy Moore in Disney's newest animated film, Rapunzel.
A celebrated actress whose credits include such Broadway his as Passion and The King and I, Murphy will voice the character of Rapunzel's captor, Mother Gothel.
The 50th animated production for Disney, the film is an adaptation on the popular German fairytale made famous by the Brothers Grimm. Other co-stars include Zachary Levi, David Schwimmer, John Goodman, Jason Alexander, and Carol Burnett.
Scheduled for a winter 2010 release, the film has already begun production. Murphy most recently appeared alongside TV's Eric McCormack in TNT's drama series, Trust Me.
