With the release of Mandy Moore's sixth studio album, 2009 was a year to remember. Now, just a little more than seven months after its debut, we're excited to reach into the way-back machine to feature Mandy's fabulous appearance on Walmart's popular Soundcheck series!
Featuring live, acoustic renditions of tracks off "Amanda Leigh," Mandy Moore's Walmart Soundcheck includes an in-depth interview with the 25 year old singer/actress. Discussing the decision to name the album "Amanda Leigh,"
Mandy notes, "I guess it just felt fitting for this collection of music because it just felt like the most significant work that I've been a part of creating. It felt very much organically like me!"
Touching on the overall product that is "Amanda Leigh," Mandy addresses what she considers to be one of the album's best features. "I wrote (and produced) the whole record with my friend, Mike Viola," she explains. "So I feel like it's a very contained collection of music. [Every track] was written in a two or three month period of time, and then we went right into the studio to make the album. So it feels like this lovely little time capsule. I'm more proud of this than anything I've ever been involved with."
"It was by far the best time I've ever had making music," she adds. "It's the only way I want to make music from now on!"
Be sure to check out Mandy's special renditions of songs like "I Could Break Your Heart Any Day Of The Week," "Fern Dell,
" and "Love to Love Me Back
," on Walmart Soundcheck now!
