Mandy Moore would seem to spend much of her life on the move. Since the release of Amanda Leigh in May 2009, the 25 year old has devoted the past eight months to promoting her new album, starring in a pair of highly-anticipated films, and donating her time and energy to a number of worthwhile charities.
With so little time to spare, the notion that a newly-married Mandy Moore would be an expert on relaxation makes sense. Highlighted in a feature of the Chicago Tribune's Celebrity Traveler recently, Mandy, who happens to be the daughter of a commercial airline pilot, details several of her most cherished vacation destinations.
A fan of awe-inspiring Tokyo, Mandy offers a glowing review of the world's largest city. "I love sushi, which is one of the reasons why I love going to Japan," confesses Mandy. "'[But] it's also a breath of fresh air. I know what to expect but there's still a sense of sensory overload. It's a bit overwhelming and wonderful at the same time."
A former spokesmodel for Coach Japan, Mandy Moore seems to have found a home-away-from-home in Japan. "I'm a bit shy, so I tend to not blurt things out," says Mandy. "I fit in pretty well in Japanese culture because I'm big on thank-yous, and I don't feel I'm being overly polite because [the people] are so polite."
For a more impulsive getaway, Mandy details a fondess for California's Big Sur. "I love Big Sur," notes Mandy. "I find that the drive is one of the best parts of the trip--equal parts energizing and relaxing. The vibe up there is so peaceful and pitch-perfect for some quiet writing time."
We couldn't agree more, Mandy!
