Collaborating with the likes of Rachael Yamagata, Mike Viola, The Weepies, and Tracy Bonham, Mandy Moore enjoys a sterling reputation as a singer, songwriter, and performer.
Add to the list, Aussie Ben Lee, who toured with Mandy in early 2008 in support of his sixth studio album, "Ripe." Featured on Lee''s 50's-style recording entitled "Birds And Bees
," Mandy joined guests Benji Madden and Rachael Yamagata on the singer's acclaimed folk-pop album.
In an interview with Spinner.com, the 31 year old Sydney-native sounded off on his experience with the radiant songstress. "I'll tell you what, if you've got girls on the bus, it just sort of lift's everyone's game," he laughs. "We just did this tour with Mandy Moore and obviously she's the boss of the bus. The place smelled great, it was tidy. It shows you like, put a woman in charge and things are executed a little more daintily."
Stepping in to perform on Lee's "Birds and Bees" track, Lee noted Mandy's willingness to try something different. "'Birds And Bees,' for me, it was always kind of based on Grease and I needed an Olivia Newton John-type singer," he recounts. "Mandy--I think someone who is an actor, they bring like a different energy in the studio, like they're more open to trying different things."
