Mandy Moore hit the talk show circuit with last night's appearance on HLN's hit Joy Behar Show. Discussing her recent Shape Magazine cover, Mandy responded to questions regarding her New Year's resolutions, her recent marriage to rocker Ryan Adams, and her support of efforts to educate young women on the risks of cervical cancer.
Sitting down with the popular television personality, Mandy responded to questions over her body image. "I think I err on the other side of the scale in terms of like, what is the norm in Hollywood. And I've always been comfortable to represent that side."
Addressing her recent nuptials to Ryan Adams, Mandy fielded the obvious comparisons to her 90's counterparts, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan. "I mean I feel lucky because I've always managed to escape that kind of scrutiny," said Mandy. "Probably because I am fairly boring. I just don't engage in that type of behavior. I don't really go out. And now... I'm an old married broad, so there's nothing exciting to report on or write about."
Discussing her involvement with the Gynecological Cancer Foundation and GlaxoSmithKline, Mandy detailed the importance of cervical cancer awareness. "I think like a lot of young women, there was a lot I didn't know. It's the second leading cause of cancer death of women in their 20s and 30s...which is sort of mind boggling statistic to me. I felt an obligation to sort of step up to the plate and use this platform to help spread the word that it is a preventable cancer, and encourage women to take control of their health and talk to their doctor."
