Love, Wedding, Marriage Prepares to Debut in Limited Release!

Love, Wedding, Marriage starring Mandy Moore and Kellen Lutz is right around the corner, kicking off Friday June 3rd, 2011 in limited release!

Dermot Mulroney's directorial debut which also includes Jane Seymour, James Brolin and Jessica Szohr, features the effervescent Mandy as a marriage counselor whose parents (Seymour and Brolin) separate after many years together. She feverishly attempts to get them back together, jeopardizing her own marriage to husband, Kellan Lutz.

Mandy Moore in Disney's Tangled Hits Theaters Today!

Mandy Moore fans rejoice, Tangled hits theaters today!

An adaption of the popular German fairytale made famous by the Brothers Grimm, Tangled tells the story of Rapunzel, a beautiful young woman forced to spend her entire life imprisoned in a solitary tower. Aided by her long, flowing locks of long blonde hair, Rapunzel's life is suddenly transformed by a chance meeting with a brash young bandit.

Voiced by the gorgeous Mandy Moore, Rapunzel is a memorable new princess. "[Rapunzel] is definitely the quintessential sassy, young Disney heroine," says Mandy. "She's a bit of a spitfire too, and a very curious young woman. She's really curious about the world she's never really seen, and she's coming into her own."

Set to music by the same songwriter responsible for The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin, Tangled also benefits from a royal pedigree of sorts."In the case of [the film], I think the name Disney on it makes all the difference. It gives permission to the fact that it is a musical," notes the iconic Alan Menken. "A lot of what I've done has a rock edge...[but] Tangled is my most pop-oriented."

Ironically, Rapunzel may join Disney's elite cast of royalty not for her tresses, but for her more intrinsic qualities. "She's not a victim, she's not naive," not Mandy. "She's open and warm, engaged, spirited and ready to embrace the unknown -- whatever comes her way. I love that."

MandyMooreBlog.com Presents Mandy Moore's Wrap-Up: October!

As we prepare to dedicate another exclusive edition of Mandy Moore's Monthly Wrap-Up, we'd like to first congratulate Ryan Adams on a great 36th birthday. May there be many Moore to come!

With the release of Tangled less than two months away, October started with a bang as Mandy shot an eight page spread for the November 2010 issue of O Magazine. Sporting a classy blend of Fall/Winter styles from the likes of Jason Wu, Ralph Lauren and D&G, Mandy channeled an outdoorsy vibe with earthier pieces from Woolrich and J Crew. "Fall has always been my favorite time," noted the brown-haired beauty."That sense of renewal is so engrained from school."

On another note, Mandy paid homage to prime time TV this month as she appeared for the second time on ABC's hit show, Grey's Anatomy. Airing October 28th, the episode features a documentary film crew's visit to Seattle Grace just six months after the dramatic shooting spree that closed out season 6. Appearing for a final course of treatment after a lengthy series of traveling, Mandy makes a point to remind Dr. Miranda Bailey that she has learned that "life is short." Thought-provoking and at the same heart-breaking, this is one episode not to be missed.

October was also the month for interviews as Mandy appeared for a late night chat with Jimmy Kimmel on ABC. Dressed to kill in a little black dress, Mandy waxed poetic on the "cathartic" nature of vacuuming, and a Halloween potluck involving the arrival of some very embarrassing "herbal"-laced cookies. Discussing the upcoming release of Disney's Tangled, Kimmel celebrated the film with a showcase of several signing Rapunzel dolls, now available at Disney's online store. Despite being one of our favorites, Jimmy Kimmel Live was just one of Mandy's scheduled appearances. She was also featured in an exclusive article on SheKnows.com.

As the month came and went, we could barely contain ourselves over the release of several new previews for Disney's latest animated feature film, Tangled! The film even earned its very own attraction at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA which was kicked off by none other than Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi!

Stop the presses: MandyMooreBlog.com is gearing up for another exciting edition of Mandy Moore's Monthly Wrap-Up!

The gorgeous Mandy Moore stood up in a big way in September, as she joined Natasha Bedingfield, Katie Couric, Laura Linney, and a host of other stars on Stand Up To Cancer 2010, airing September 10th. A participant in 2008's inaugural cancer fundraiser, Mandy helped raise more than $100 million dollars during the live hour-long event, simulcast on most major networks throughout the United States. Mandy, who has taken part in a number of health campaigns of late, also appeared on camera to make a personal plea for research dollars towards her personal area of emphasis, cervical cancer.

On the heels of a bit of successful fundraising, Mandy continued the month with the exciting release of the full-length trailer for her soon-to-be blockbuster hit, Tangled! Described as "adorbs" by gossip queen Perez Hilton, the promo is a smashing tapestry of action, comedy, and romance. Plus, how cute is Mandy's character!

As this month came to a close, we were nothing but short of impressed to find Mandy fighting malaria in the Central African Republic with Nothing But Nets (NBN). A grassroots organization involved in malaria prevention through advocacy, procurement, and distribution of free nets, NBN has recently posted a number of photos and updates through Facebook and Twitter. Incidentally, we couldn't help but notice they've dubbed their life-saving nets as Moore Nets (video).

Mandy Moore Appears in Promo Pics for Grey's Anatomy Season Finale!

With the season finale of Grey's Anatomy right around the corner, fans of Mandy Moore received a first-look at the singer/actress's anticipated guest appearance on the show.

Appearing in lively spirits, Mandy is all smiles under the care of Dr. Miranda Bailey, played by Chandra Wilson. Pictured with just the slightest hint of make-up, Mandy delivers a softer look against her pink sweater and hospital gown.

As we reported earlier, Mandy's appearance follows that of TV actress, Sara Gilbert, and pop-starlet, Demi Lovato. The season finale of Grey's Anatomy kicks off on ABC, May 20th, 2010 at 9 PM.

Mandy Moore Continues Fight Against Malaria in Support of New Website!

  

In conjunction with World Cup 2010, Mandy Moore continued the fight against malaria in Africa with a series of posts on her popular Twitter-feed. 

"An African child dies of malaria every 30 seconds -- use your voice to change that," urged Mandy. "Show world leaders you're committed to sending nets and saving lives," she continued. "Ours is the generation that can end malaria. Join me and use your voice to make history and save lives. "

With a keen eye towards helping stopping the spread of malaria, Mandy's latest efforts come on behalf of UnitedAgainstMalaria.org. Organized by leaders in government, professional sports, and entertainment sectors, UnitedAgainstMalaria.org uses the upcoming World Cup soccer tournament to promote malaria-relief through awareness and direct action.

Fans may remember Mandy's first efforts at malaria-awareness through a high-profile trip to Southern Sudan in 2009. Joining forces with Population Services International (PSI) and the Global Fund, Mandy launched an unprecedented initiative bringing three million new mosquito nets to aid in the country's ongoing fight against malaria.

James Brolin and Jane Seymour Join the Cast of "Love, Wedding, Marriage!"

James Brolin and Jane Seymour have joined the cast of Love, Wedding, Marriage, starring Mandy Moore!

Playing the role of Mandy Moore's parents, Brolin and Seymour throw their newly-wedded daughter into a tailspin as they unexpectedly announce their divorce. A successful marriage counselor, Mandy is forced to confront a dose of harsh reality as she fights to save their relationship at the expense of her own.

A pair of veteran actors, Brolin and Seymour have appeared in countless films across a span of nearly five decades. Leading players in the 70's and 80's, Brolin's credits include Skyjacked, Westworld, and Capricorn One, while Seymour's films include the James Bond thriller, Live and Let Die, and Somewhere in Time. 

More recently, Seymour has appeared on Dancing with the Stars, while Brolin has appeared in such films as The Reagans, and The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard.  

Due out in 2011, Love, Wedding, Marriage also features Twilight Saga-star Kellan Lutz in Dermot Mulroney's directorial debut.

Mandy Moore to Star in Season Finale of Grey's Anatomy!

Mandy Moore will check in Seattle Grace with a guest appearance on the season finale of Grey's Anatomy.

Airing May 20th on ABC, Mandy will play Mary, a patient of Dr. Miranda Bailey, played by Chandra Wilson. Concluding a landmark sixth season, Mandy's appearance follows a controversial mid-season episode starring Sara Gilbert, and an upcoming cameo by pop-sensation Demi Lovato.

With an appearance on one of television's highest rated dramas, Mandy's continues to build a solid television resume. Since 2006, Mandy has appeared in a number of popular episodes of Scrubs, Entourage, and How I Met Your Mother.

The season finale of Grey' s Anatomy starring Mandy Moore airs Thursday, May 20th, 2010 at 9pm.

Mandy Moore Promotes April 2010 "Water" Issue of National Geographic!

As part of her efforts for World Water Day, Mandy Moore provided lawmakers on Capitol Hill with copies of the April issue of National Geographic. 

Founded in 1888 for the "increase and diffusion of geographical knowledge," the National Geographic Society is one of the country's foremost scientific and educational institutions. With a membership standing at more than 8.5 million, National Geographic employs more than 1500 writers, photographers, and scientists in bases across the world. 

As a leader in the natural and scientific fields, the focus of National Geographic on the global water crisis signals a significant commitment by the publication. Focusing on a number of challenging areas, the April issue looks at the effects of the water crisis on developing countries, its impact on freshwater creatures, and regions with notable water issues, including the Tibetan Plateau and the Jordan River. The issue also look at solutions such as desalinization and the efforts of water conservation.

Noting the impact of this major discussion, National Geographic has also taken the unusual step of publishing its entire issue at NationalGeographic.com.
