Mandy Moore Lends Her Voice to Coach.com's Poppy Collection!

Renewing a sustained partnership with Coach, Mandy Moore lends her voice for an all-new promotion on Coach.com!

Marking the newest campaign for Coach's trendy Poppy collection, Mandy's voice can be heard as she recites a selection of free verse by Russian born fiction writer, essayist, and book critic, Irina Reyn. Entitled "A New York City Saturday, Springtime," it tells the imaginative story of a young woman's life in the heart of the Big Apple.

Ending on a surprising note, the verse concludes without an ending. Asking viewers to submit their desired conclusion in 900 characters or less, the winner is promised publication on Coach.com.

Marking the second-such promotional opportunity in a month, Mandy's "I Could Break Your Heart Any Day of the Week" was recently featured on Coach's newest commercial.

Mandy Moore Talks Philanthropy and Fashion on 'The Thread'

Songstress Mandy Moore paid a visit to Times Square in New York City recently, as she sat down with Sarah Bernard on Yahoo's The Thread!

Scheduled amidst a whirlwind media tour of the Big Apple, Mandy kicked off the interview with a special emphasis on cervical cancer awareness. Decrying a recent study that showed that just one in five young women know where their cervix is, Mandy urged women to be "proactive" in maintaining their cervical health. 

In the aftermath of a very busy 2009, Mandy briefly touched on her latest projects in the new year. Noting that she continues to record music for Disney's Rapunzel, Mandy added that she is also working on releasing a brand new album!

Asked to name her favorite designer, Mandy was diplomatic as she confessed an interest in vintage pieces. Declining to name a single designer on camera, she ultimately revealed that her super-cute black and navy dress was an original Balenciaga.

Mandy Moore Squares Off Against Cervical Cancer on NYC's PIX 11

In conjunction with the Gynecological Cancer Foundation's new Reality Check campaign, Mandy Moore appeared on New York City's PIX 11 Morning News recently to raise awareness of cervical cancer.

Sporting a white blouse and black skirt combo, Mandy looked lovely on set as she discussed facts and explained her reasons for supporting the national campaign.

Emphatic in her desire to encourage women to be "proactive in protecting their cervical health," Mandy spoke candidly as she noted that being a young woman was reason enough to encourage her to take a stand against the devastating disease.

Calling it "one of the preventable cancers," Mandy instructed women to take control. "Whether or not you are planning on having children now or later in life," she added, "it is essential to take care of your cervix."

Mandy Moore was spotted outside of CW Studios this morning, following completion of a scheduled television appearance. 

Weaving through a crowd of fans and papparazi in Midtown Manhattan, Mandy appeared fashionable in a black overcoat with a green scarf.

"Gone Too Far" Series Finale Tonight on MTV 10 PM ET/PT

MandyMooreBlog.com would like to announce the series finale of DJ AM's breakthrough documentary series, "Gone Too Far," airing on MTV later tonight. 

Dedicated to the memory of Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein, the series features young adults, age 18 to 23, as they struggle to escape the devastating and often painful affects of drug addiction.

Working with addicts and their families, DJ AM offers a hopeful message as he convinces heroin, cocaine, meth, prescription pill, and alcohol users to seek help at one of several participating rehab facilities. 

A close friend of Mandy Moore, DJ AM tragically died this past August in his New York City apartment.

To watch tonight's landmark series finale, tune into MTV at 10 PM ET/PT.

Ryan Adams Recites "White Diamond" Poem at NYPL

Back in October, we showcased highlights from a memorable chat between rocker Ryan Adams and Weeds star Mary Louise Parker. 

Held at the iconic New York Public Library, the two-hour conversation not only offered Ryan a chance to discuss his new book, "Hello Sunshine," but also served as a reconnection of sorts for the former neighbors and North Carolina natives.

The book, only Ryan's second collection of poetry, is a powerful piece of work that demands to be heard. Like "White Diamond," shown above, Ryan's poetry offers the same type of description and introspection that have been hallmarks of his illustrious musical career.

Showing their musical savvy, readers of Rolling Stone Magazine named Ryan's, "New York, New York" the second best New York-inspired song ever.

Billy Joel topped the list of the fifteen best songs, for his classic rock tune, "New York State Of Mind." Notable runners up also included Nas, Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys, U2, and Bruce Springsteen.

Recorded for Ryan's 2001 album, "Gold," "New York, New York," has a particularly memorable history. Selected for release as a music video, Ryan filmed the song just across the Hudson in the days prior to the 9-11 attacks on New York City.

Mandy Moore's Alma Mater Performing at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

With a number of successful alumni like Natalie Portman, Robert Downey Jr., Adam Pascal and Mandy Moore, Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center has a reputation for training the best.

In an exciting first, Stagedoor will present sixty of its most promising students for a unique song and dance finale in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Presented live on national television, the event will offer a first-hand look at one of the entertainment industry's most successful training programs. Offering intensive summer programs to talented youngsters, Stagedoor's training classes immerse participants in intensive song, dance, and actor training.

For 16 year old singer-dancer, Cody Gunn, Stagedoor's prestigious program represents an valuable opportunity. By participating in the parade, performers like Gunn "join a number of high-profile celebrities, iconic floats, giant balloons, and elite marching bands" in one of New York's most cherished traditions.

"Gone Too Far" Tonight on MTV 10 PM ET/PT

MandyMooreBlog.com would like to announce that DJ AM's documentary series, "Gone Too Far" will premiere on MTV later tonight. 

Dedicated to the memory of Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein, the series features young adults, age 18 to 23, as they struggle to escape the perilous grasp of drug addiction. 

A close friend of Mandy Moore, DJ AM died tragically this past August at his New York City apartment. In the days following his passing, Mandy released this statement:

"I am absolutely heartbroken. For those of us lucky enough to have known
  him, Adam radiated a contagious exuberance for life and also personified the 
 very definition of a true friend. To say that he will be missed beyond words
 is an understatement. My heart goes out to his loved ones."

To watch tonight's debut episode, tune into MTV at 10 PM ET/PT.

Mandy Moore Sings McCartney's "Let Me Roll It"

Since the 2007 release of her fifth studio album, entitled "Wild Hope," Mandy Moore has made little secret of her many musical influences. Inspired by icons of both the folk and rock genres, Mandy's musical heritage is paved by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Cat Stevens and Paul McCartney.

Given her incredible voice, we were tremendously excited to discover Mandy's recent performance of Paul McCartney and Wing's 1974 hit, "Let Me Roll It." Filmed in front of a live audience, that included your MM Bloggers, it was an unexpected treat for us and the sell-out crowd at New York's Highline Ballroom.  

Incidentally, this is not the first time that Mandy has paid homage to popular music. Back in 2003, Mandy Moore released "Coverage," a studio album dedicated exclusively to popular covers. Paying tribute to a dozen of her favorite musicians, the album featured hits like "I Feel the Earth Move," "Moonshadow," and "Help Me."
